The Addington Timebank has started a small, ready-made meal project. We know many in the community who could do with a pre-prepared meal from time-to-time because they are incapacitated, have a new baby or are super-busy doing lots for other people, and don't always have time to make themselves a good meal.
We’re looking for Timebank members who like cooking to provide spare meals as and when they can. We are freezing the meals so we can give them to people who need them.
Meal containers can be provided and need to be labelled with meal ingredients.
Those getting the meals pay in a mix of time credits and a koha (contribution) towards the cost of ingredients – at this stage we think that meals use on average about $5 of ingredients. We can then use this to repay cooks in produce and time credits.
If you, or someone you know, might be interested in getting meals, please get in touch and we'll sort out the logistics.
